Coinbase Card (Debit & Credit)

Custodial Visa debit and AmEx credit cards for spending any crypto held on the Coinbase platform.

A dual offering consisting of a Visa debit card and an American Express credit card, both designed to let users spend cryptocurrency directly from their Coinbase account. The debit card automatically converts crypto to fiat at the point of sale, while the credit card offers tiered Bitcoin rewards and is paid off like a traditional card, with an option to use crypto for statement payments.

Existing Coinbase users who want to spend their crypto holdings directly without transferring to a bank first, international travelers who benefit from zero foreign transaction fees, and cryptocurrency enthusiasts who prefer earning crypto rewards rather than traditional credit card points.

Our verdict

The Coinbase Card now offers two distinct products that cater to different user needs and preferences. The Coinbase Visa Debit Card represents a significant advancement in making cryptocurrency practical for everyday use, bridging the gap between digital assets and traditional payment systems. Its primary strength lies in allowing users to seamlessly spend their crypto holdings without manual conversion steps, effectively functioning as a debit card linked directly to their Coinbase account.
